The children of four should never have been involved in this war, it wasn't their fight yet most of them were paying the price. Losing parents, siblings, some losing their own lives. It broke Daya's heart. When she was called to go to four and help out she jumped to the opportunity.
As a nurse she had a natural compassion for anyone, but children were her weakness. Innocent, untainted, and pure. Anyone trying to take that from them was ridiculous.
After finishing at the children's ward she decided to go back to her bunker. A short walk but a dangerous one at that, she was trained but she still didn't want to fight anyone.
The sun was still shining as she headed home, stopping only once she had bumped into someone. She prayed it wasn't someone who was gonna hurt her. "Sorry." She said sincerely.

Four. The last time he had ventured to the beach stricken district he'd been lounging against the lighthouse railing when he met Marina, the blonde he managed to befriend and help. It was a good day, honestly, but he couldn't ever find the will too come back. After saying his goodbyes once she was on her feet, it just felt wrong to invade the land. There was no reason to feel that way, but Sterling found himself constantly blocking himself off from certain Districts. Two, Ten, and here- it was just something about the past that made him cringe.
History was a rocky topic with him. Whether it was a good or bad memory, he closed himself off from the past.
Today, though, he was drawn to the district to discuss with one of the General's of Thirteen about war tatics. Sterling wasn't a soldier, but his training and skill with the bow made him a valuable asset to plotting and planning. So he, being loyal to the District, complied and came.
Though, that was easier said then done. He had no idea where he was going- directions weren't his forte. With his attention everywhere but ahead of him, he didn't see the woman walking his way and thus didn't think to move. So, they collided. Stumbling a bit, he caught his balance and leveled himself out.
Hazel eyes meeting the woman's, he smiled and shook his head, voice sweet, "Don't apologize, it's okay. Are you fine?" She looked pretty startled.

Daya gained her balance before her caramel colored eyes traveled up to the mans face, a thirteen resident, obviously. The question was would he hurt or help her? His words calming her nerves slightly, he seemed friendly enough. Though most people did at first, then they attack.
"I'm fine, are you okay?" She replies, her nursing instinct kicking in. She let her eyes scan him, only for a moment before she saw a few Capitol soldiers headed their way. Grabbing his hand she yanked him into the small alley way that was between a few of the near by houses, she wasn't a small girl so she turned her back to the opening almost completely covering the man.
"I'm sorry, they would have given you shit. Like a lot of it." She admits, the two men were awful. She knew them and what they were capable of. "Though I'm sure you could have taken care of yourself." She says softly, God she was awkward.
"Daya." She introduced herself, "I'm sorry for bumping you then dragging you into an alley." She begins before realizing "oh my gosh I sound like a kidnapper." Her giggle filled the air between them.

"I'm quite alright," he just barely managed to slip in before she was gripping his arm and yanking him down a dark, dank alley here in the fishy District. Panic set in. This was war, there were soldiers walking up and down these streets and he barely managed to pass as an innocent bystander. So when the woman who had the glow of a Capitol citizen grabbed his wrist and shoved him out of the safety of the street, he went to fight. Before he did anything he would regret, thankfully she explained what was going on. Reluctantly, he nodded and ducked under the cover of her body as the few brutal looking men inched past. Once they'd passed, he sighed, shaking his head and cringing against the brick wall behind him. Trying to calm down, he turned his head to face the dark haired girl who'd 'saved' him. Eyes locking on hers, he slipped down the wall, lips parted to speak but he closed them to revise what he wanted to say. "Yeah," Sterling breathed out slowly, trying to get a reading on the girl, but he couldn't quite grasp who she was, "I could have taken them, but it's easier this way. Thanks." Offering her a coy smile, he took note of her name, giving her his in return, "Sterling Brice, and don't worry about it, I don't judge." He teased her for the kidnapper comment, chuckling lightly as he cuddled against the wall and caught his breath from it all.

Daya watched with a confused look on her face as the man slipped down the wall. He seemed shaken, her soft tone filled the air. "You definitely could have taken them, though I would prefer less dead bodies scattered around this beautiful district." She admits softly, kneeling next to the man.
"Brave soul to be in four without protection, I could have killed you." She teased, anyone who looked at her would be able to tell she'd never harm a fly. She fixed people, not broke them. It was her job to comfort the little innocent kids in these hard times.
"What are you doing here?" She asked once she realized she could be the one in danger.
