Joel's alarm went off at 7am sharp, after finally dragging his lazy body out of his bed he slipped into the shower. One con of being in the military was the early morning training, though today he was training with Sedya. She was the only thing that could keep him focused this morning. After scarfing down a small bowl of oatmeal he pulled on his standard issue uniform and headed towards the training room.
He'd arrived before Sedya, of course she would be late the one time he was early. They'd been friends for a while, she'd trained him when he was just beginning in Thirteens army.
He walked casually over to the guns, fingers tracing over a semi automatic ak47. Picking it up he moved over to the firing range, goggles on, ear plugs in. He was in the zone. Bullets burrowing into each target as quickly as he could. Hip firing, snapping down sight. Guns were always his specialty. His mind tried to stay off the feelings he'd been hiding from Athena.
He was sent to spy on her, and yet he'd fallen in love with her. Or began to at least. Now he had to face a choice, his family orders, or his own feelings.
He heard the clunking of another pair of boots, Sedya. Turning he gives her a grin. "About time you showed up." He chuckled, smirking at her still.

Seyda was running late but she didn't mind much. She was usually early simply because she preferred being early but when she was late, it didn't bother her either. She'd never been the very obedient type. She was a wild woman with a strong rebellious side and a code of ethics all her own. The Capitol hadn't been able to keep her under control and Thirteen was struggling to do that same. They did have one thing over her now. Alexander.
She clicked her way into the training room, glad she could spend a morning with Joel. He was a bit younger than her but he was a smart man. He knew what he was doing. When she first received orders that she was supposed to train the kid of a Thirteen military leader, she'd baulked at the idea. She'd spent the first few weeks training him into the ground, pushing him harder and harder, sure that he'd break. When he didn't, she felt respect for him. That was the basis of their friendship.
She'd trained him into one of the best military intelligence specialists Thirteen had ever had, apart from herself. He was a lot like her in that he didn't necessarily always follow the rules. It was what gave them the edge in their job.
"Figured I'd give you a taste of your own medicine. Always making me wait on you." She smirked back at him, strolling over the weapons rack, pulling out a sword. That was her specialty although like Joel, she was well versed in all kinds of weapons.
