"Adrian, hush up. You don't know what you're talking about," Elyssia said out loud as she walked towards her father's house. Many people gave her odd looks as they tried to figure out who it was that she was talking to. Elyssia had gotten used to the confused looks and glares, so they hardly phased her anymore. She'd been arguing with Aria about her love life for almost a half an hour as she walked home from school.
Well, how come the rest of us should have to suffer just because you can't talk to someone for five seconds without making them think you're insane? Adrian said in an annoyed tone. Adrian had been telling her to get a boyfriend for years now, but Elyssia just wasn't interested in that kind of thing. Sure, there were guys that she had been interested in in the past, but her mother usually kept her pretty sheltered from that sort of thing, and she was always too busy with other things to have a boyfriend.
"Because it's my body, and just because you want to have sex doesn't mean I do," Elyssia said to Adrian. She knew the other girls were there, just listening. That's usually how it was. Every once in a while she would have a minute or two when they would all be gone. Just a moment of sweet silence. But then they would come back, louder than ever. But now they were in their normal, neutral state, so Elyssia was perfectly content conversing with them.
You're just no fun, bitch, Adrian responded a second later. Elyssia took no offense to her insult, since that's usually all Adrian ever did. Until Elyssia decided that she was ready for a relationship, Adrian would just be a constant stream of abuse.
"Hey you crazy bitch!" Elyssia heard a voice, but it wasn't one of the girls. It was a male. At first she thought it was still Adrian, taking her occasional male form. But then she noticed a boy walking towards her. He was from her school. Tate was his name, Elyssia recalled. He had been in her class the previous day when she started freaking out because her voices got too loud.
Elyssia turned to run from the boy, but there was another one behind her. She didn't recognize him. "Can't run from us you little psycho," he spat at her. Elyssia knew what was about to happen. She'd been dealing with this for as long as she could remember. It only got worse as she got older and all of the other kids grew stronger and meaner.
"What do you want?" Elyssia asked quickly. She was ready to offer them whatever she could.
Tate raised an eyebrow at her. "What we want? Well, I just wanted to show my friend here the basket case girl that everyone's been talking about. He's been dying to meet you in person," he said to her.
Elyssia spun around again when she felt the other boy put his hand on her hip. "You're a lot prettier than I thought you'd be. It's a shame a girl so beautiful is freaking crazy. Hey Tate, what do you say we have some fun with her?"
Aria then decided to speak up. Fight them. Hit him. Don't let him touch you like that! Her voice was getting loud, but one loud voice wasn't enough to overwhelm Elyssia. But when Adrian started yelling Elyssia felt her heartbeat begin to pick up speed. Shut up Aria! The girl's about to get some real action for once in her life. Tears started falling from Elyssia's eyes as she tried to fight the boys off of her body. But they were too strong. All of the girls were soon yelling so loud inside of her head that she could hear her own thoughts. Soon everything went dark.
---time skip---
They were gone, finally. Elyssia sat there, curled up in a dark and wet alley. Her clothes had been ripped from her body, and now lay muddied and soaked a few feet away from her body. The voices were gone. They had been ever since the boys ran off. They'd never been silent for so long. As tears ran down her face, Elyssia rocked back and forth, in a state of pure shock. She wasn't even entirely positive of what had just happened to her. Naked and scarred, she sat in the alley and prayed that someone would come to her rescue.
